However, now I have to deal with the cursor glitch again. I have since uninstalled OE Quotefix and the problem is gone. The URL's also load correctly when I copy and paste them into IE's search field. I know it is QuoteFix causing the problem because when I turned it off, the hyperlinks work fine. The page cannot be displayed." I tried several hyperlinks in several different newsgroups, and a small number did load properly, but most didn't. Unfortunately, I also discovered that when I tried to click on a hyperlink posted in a newsgroup message, Internet Explorer would open and I would see this message."Invalid syntax error. I installed the program and it placed the cursor at the bottom of messages. It changes where the cursor is positioned in messages, as well as other several other options. This morning I learned of a small freeware program called OE QuoteFix. Apparently there are no settings in OE that can change this. It should be placed at the bottom, underneath the quoted text. One annoying aspect of Outlook Express is that when you respond to an email or newsgroup post, the cursor is placed at the top of the window. Outlook Express 6 SP2 is my newsgroup and email program.
